Sliders, the ambitious new science fiction adventure series is about four explorers who discover a gateway to traveling to parallel universes. It asks the perennial question “what if” and chronicles the adventures of pioneers who have figured out how to “slide” through parallel dimensions, experiencing and exploring Earth today as it would be if a different path had been taken, personally or historically. So though it’s always Earth today, the group encounters different “what if” scenarios each time they visit a parallel dimension.

The eclectic group of Sliders includes: Quinn Mallory (Jerry O’Connell) — a young genius who finds the key to “sliding” in a homemade laboratory; Professor Maximillian Arturo (John Rhys-Davies) — Quinn’s traditional professor who reluctantly goes along for the scientific ride of his life; Wade Wells (Sabrina Lloyd) — Quinn’s good friend whose unrequited love is a source of tension between them; and Rembrandt “Crying Man” Brown (Cleavant Derricks) — a member of the classic singing group “The Spinning Topps” who is known for crying real tears at every performance and is unwittingly caught in the momentum of the initial “slide.”

Returning for its second season, Sliders is the state-of-the-art adventure series that chronicles the travels of four dynamic characters who slide to parallel dimensions of Earth, experiencing and exploring Earth 1996 as it would be if a different path had been taken either personally or historically. The eclectic group of travelers is led by Quinn Mallory (Jerry O’Connell), a 23-year-old genius who finds the key to sliding travel from a homemade laboratory in his basement. With each slide, Quinn has become more in-tune with his intelligence and the effect he has on people under the most trying circumstances. He has proven himself to be a reliable leader as he guides the others from dimension to dimension.

Sliders chronicles the adventures of four explorers who have figured out how to "slide" through parallel dimensions of Earth using a timer which opens a sliding vortex. They explore present-day Earth, taking the alternate route to personal and historical situations each time they slide into parallel dimensions.

The Sliders expand their world of sliding when the timer is altered to allows them to slide to exotic locals beyond San Francisco. They encounter worlds devastated by tornadoes, where the judicial system operates like a game show and one where Los Angeles and San Francisco have become one big resource hog. While each world appears normal to the Sliders initially, it doesn't take long for them to realize that they are still not home.

Sci-Fi Channel turns a new page in its history and paves the way for its future with the addition of Sliders, the state-of-the-art science-fiction adventure series from Universal Television, to its original programming lineup beginning in January, 1998. Sci-Fi Channel has committed to 22 new, original episodes of the series, and has acquired the exclusive rights to all 48 previously produced hours. The announcement was made today by Rod Perth, President, USA Networks Entertainment.

Sliders, whch debuted on the FOX television network on March 22, 1995, and completed its third season on May 16, follows the adventures of a young team of explorers who "slide" through parallel dimensions of Earth using a timer which opens a sliding vortex. They explore Earth in the current year, taking the alternate route to personal and historic situations. Jerry O'Connell ("Jerry Maguire," "Scream 2" stars as Quinn Mallory; Charlie O'Connell stars as Colin Mallory; Cleavant Derricks ("Something Wilder") stars as Rembrandt Brown and Kari Wuhrer ("Anaconda") stars as Maggie Beckett.

Sliders, the hit original SCI FI series, launches a fifth season with our intrepid team of interdimensional travelers facing their greatest challenges yet. Beginning Friday, June 11 at 9 p.m. ET, the Sliders find themselves forever altered by the diabolical schemes of an evil scientist that forces the team into a bizarre identity crisis. All-new episodes of Sliders will air regularly on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET as part of SCI FI's original Friday night block, SCI FI Prime. Additionally, Sliders fans can enjoy nightly episodes of past seasons of the popular, action/adventure series Monday-Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

Sliders follows a team of explorers who travel through a "sliding" vortex to parallel Earth dimensions. Some plot highlights of the new season include: Maggie as Monica (yes, that one) — is accused of having a steamy affair with the President; Rembrandt is worshiped as an ancient deity by a group excavating Los Angeles from under a desert; the Civil War is reenacted with Maggie leading the Union charge against the Confederates; and in a special episode, Rembrandt returns to a Kromagg detention facility and learns the fate of their missing original Slider teammate, Wade Welles.

In 1999, the Sci-Fi Channel continued its online promotional campaign for Sliders with the creation of the Year 5 Journal. Written by Story Editor Keith Damron, the journal was released alongside the first airing of each fifth season episode in the United States and featured a number of behind-the-scenes production and story-breaking information. Unlike the Online Slides, which complimented fourth season episodes fictitiously, Damron's notes were meant to give viewers a sneak peek into the offices of Sliders.

In the fall of 2005 Sci-Fi abruptly dismantled their Sliders site, leaving Keith's journals without a home. Fortunately, they're now preserved here at Earth Prime. Enjoy.

It is not a review blog so much as an in-depth look at the hidden themes of the show (what’s in it), the outlying cultural paratext of the show (what’s around it), and also serves as a Nesting Egg around my childhood love of this show (what I have to do with it). Earth Prime celebrates the twentieth anniversary of Sliders with Sliders Reborn. This six-part series of screenplays features Quinn, Wade, Rembrandt and Arturo and takes place 15 years after the events of "The Seer."

• Revelation (3): Five Sliders. Three Earths. A search for answers that will lead to Quinn's darkest secret.
• Reminiscence (4): How can Quinn, Wade and Arturo be alive? How did they find Rembrandt? And how can home be free of Kromaggs? All will be explained.
• Revolution (5): Facing death, Quinn is confronted by an old friend from whom he has no secrets.
• Regenesis (6): The Sliders make their final stand for the fate of all realities.

Annie Fish is a cartoonist, musician, and far-out. Outside of Sliders enthusiasm, they currently split time as the creator of the webcomic FEELS and as the sole member of the bedroom-glam band Violet Mice. They live in Albuquerque and that’s quite alright.

Earth Prime is a collaborative effort of Sliders fans started in 1998. Initially designed solely to spoof the worlds visited by the Sliders during the show's run (see the Travelogue), the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Multiverse has undergone numerous name changes as its grown to broaden its appeal to fans.
