Sliders Comics by Acclaim

Starting in June of 1996, Acclaim Comics began producing special editions of Sliders in comic book form. It was the hope that with Sliders picking up steam on the FOX network, fans of the show would migrate to the serialization, which featured episode ideas tossed around for the big screen but never realized because of budget or executive interference.

The goal was “to keep [the comics] as closely related as possible when it comes to character arcs and situations,” says series creator Tracy Tormé. “There will definitely be a single reality for both the comics and TV show, so that if fans pick up the comic and meet Rembrandt for the first time, they can easily watch the TV show and immediately recognize Rembrandt there as well. The comics have the potential to really blow the Sliders universe into the stratosphere. We’re definitely going to take advantage of that and not limit ourselves.”

Each comic and its associated bonus material is preserved here for you to read. Get a Life

The Sliders find themselves a cause célèbre when they land on a world where their exploits form the basis of a media empire, and world that might be home.

The script by Andy Mangels was completed, and art by Rags Morales was in production when Acclaim stopped “Get a Life” midway in its journey. You may have seen Rags’ excellent artwork elsewhere, but for the first time, Earth Prime is making the entire script available for download. Thanks to Jeff Gomez at Starlight Runner Entertainment for providing this piece of Sliders history for us to read.
